Crain 188 Scriber Hinge

Using a precise thumbwheel, the offset distance between the bottom guide and the needle is changed. The three-arm knob locks the needle into place after being adjusted. Particularly on thick material, the tool may be inserted at the seam more easily thanks to the hinged base.

Insert the base under the material on top and hook the guide on the edge of the material underneath while the hinge is folded open. The needle is positioned on the top piece of material and prepared to scribe after you fold the hinge back. For various vinyl thicknesses, the needle height is adjustable. 11/32" is the range of offset adjustment.
