This tool effectively trims any excess carpet along the wall, leaving an optimal amount for tucking between the baseboard and tackless strip. When using this trimmer, blade changes are simple to perform by removing the blade carrier. Once the blade carrier is detached, the blades become easily accessible from the top of the blade carrier. To insert the blade carrier back, align one of the pointed edges with a relief in a shim, and lift the blade carrier to separate the shims. To adjust the throat, as the blade carrier is reinserted, align the blade carrier dimples with any of the four sockets on each shim. For the purpose of blade height adjustment, six shims are provided, each containing four sockets for throat adjustment.
